CHANGES IN THE REGULATION OF THE ONLINE CASH REGISTERS IN HUNGARY
Following the significant changes as of 2 April 2016 concerning the regulation of the online cash registers, the next date to be followed is 30 September 2016.
The aim of the Hungarian Government with the introduction of the online cash registers was to fight against the black economy distorting the Hungarian market. As to the next steps, service providers who more likely hide their revenue will be obliged to use online cash register to meet the receipt issuing obligations. This new scope of obligors includes service providers that are pursuing activities such as vehicle, motor bicycle repair and maintenance, motor bicycle accessory retailing, catering, accommodation, rental and laundry service providers, discotheque operators as well as fitness centres and plastic surgeons.
The above scope will be further expanded as of 1 January 2017, when taxi drivers and currency exchange service providers will also be obliged to use the online cash register.
